Embroidery has been around since early Egyptian days.  I imagine that by today’s standards it was pretty basic and that early Egyptians would be amazed at what we are able to do today with computerized embroidery technology.

With the evolution of digital technology we are now able to create an embroidery design on our computer with a program that was designed to generate stitches.  Once the stitches are generated the design is saved in a format that the embroidery machine can “read”.  Once the design is loaded into the embroidery machine, the thread colors are programmed into the machine in the sequence that they will sew.  The hooped garments are loaded onto the machine, we push a button to start the machine and away it sews!  Okay, I left out a few steps, but you get the idea.  Our embroidery machines have little computer monitors on them and we can actually watch the screen as it sews.  Very cool thing to see.  Even after being around this for several years, I am still amazed at what beautiful embroidery these machines can produce.
